Google set to acquire Like.com

TechCrunch has reported that they have received information that Google has finally decided to acquire Like.com service.

The search engine giant came close to acquiring this company back in 2005 but they decided against it at the last moment.

Like.com is managed by the same company that once ran Riya. Both the services are based on visual recognition technologies.

Google has been working on similar technologies in their search services and Picasa application. So, this acquisition would be a good technical boost for them.

Cydia releases patch for pdf exploit after Apple released similar patch yesterday..

There is no official number for the number of users that jailbreaked their iPhone or iPod using pdf exploit, but the number is certainly huge. Apple Pulls Camera+ out from The App Store

About a week and a half ago, iPhone developers TapTapTap pushed an updated version of their Camera+ photography app to the App Store, and all seemed well. Just yesterday, however, they revealed (via a message on Twitter that was pulled about 30 minutes after it went out) that this latest build had a hidden feature: by visiting the URL camplus://enablevolumesnap in Mobile Safari, one could make the volume buttons on the side of the iPhone instead act as a camera shutter button — something which Apple had already said was a no-no. Dell Thunder Prototype lands @ Engadget

Dell is silently making lots of buzzes with Streak and now its time for thunder – another gadget dressed with Android, specs include a 4.1-inch AMOLED display, and Android 2.1 with Dell’s custom skin on top (this could change, obviously, as the device isn’t expected until Q4 for AT&T). We also believed this device would have a screen with a WVGA resolution, but judging by how many icons are displayed in the app drawer, it could end up being higher (much higher). We still have some time to go before an official announcement, but the device is still real and it looks like it’s coming along nicely.

Apple – Making Enemies With Every Success!

Apple – Making Enemies With Every Success!

I am a fan of products created by Apple. I love the way they go for perfection in small things, but often leave big things out of the story. They join late in providing basic software features but also provide excellent experience for users. The first version of iPhone was all about users touch experience rather than hardware wow factor and later, they beefed up hardware configuration for performance in newer versions of iPhone.
