Apple showcased the new 3D maps in iOS6 at WWDC 2012 and said that the best features of maps will only be available for A5-enabled iDevices, and thus iPhone 4 and the iPad owners will be devoid of a few things. That was the line that Apple said for not giving the 3D map for earlier iDevices. However, things don’t seem true.
A hacker from Russia has successfully ported the iOS6 3D maps to iPhone 4 which just goes to show that the app could have been made compatible by Apple, but they didn’t wish to support the earlier customers. There is a catch and that is the app has a few issues with running, but the developer ensures that he is fixing the stuff and secondly, it’s in Russian.
