BBC iPlayer updated with Android 4.2 support, new channel, polished UI and more

BBC’s iPlayer app for android which allows you to watch videos on the go, plus listening to radio stations has been updated to version 1.5.0.666 with a new interface which looks more polished than the earlier one.

The app now supports Jelly bean (Android 4.2), which means the bugs encountered by few users using Jelly Bean has been addressed.

Also, there is a new channel that has been added to the offering called BBC Alba. The video playback over WI-Fi has been optimized, and the changelog mentions the arrival of more updates in the future with respect to playability.

To update the BBC iPlayer for Android on your device, go to Google Play > My Apps. You will be automatically shown the apps that can be updated, now tap the BBC iPlayer app followed by the ‘accept and update’ button. The BBC iPlayer for Android will be downloaded and updated on your device.
