BBC to launch iPlayer app for Windows Phone, Says spokesperson from Nokia

As of now, users in Europe don’t have a native iPlayer app on the Windows Phone platform though users of iOS and Android enjoy the service by BBC. The lack of quality content on Windows Phone OS causes little difficulty for manufacturers like Nokia who are betting big on Lumia phones.

According to a source from Nokia , BBC is all set to launch iPlayer for users of Windows Phone in the coming few weeks. The spokesperson also went on to say about the ongoing development of the Sky Go app.  However, he denied to comment on the release period.

“BBC iPlayer is expected to arrive on a Windows Phone within the next few weeks, a sign that the Windows Phone Marketplace is attracting more developers.”

Windows Phone OS received good reviews during the initial launch but the pace at which it is moving forward in comparison to Android and iOS is definitely slow. Microsoft needs to do more than sitting on the fence and watching, if they need to improve the current existing scenario. This launch of iPlayer and Sky Go is definitely a welcoming move for users of Windows Phone OS in Europe.

Windows phone seems to be all about looks now, and earlier Windows was all functionality with bad looks.. Wonder, how priorities changed..
