The Great Indian tamasha of allocating 3G spectrum to private cellular operators finally ended its first process with Department of Telecom raising about $14.6bn. Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications, Vodafone Essar and Idea Cellular have emerged as provisional winners in the auction.
Tata Teleservices, Aircel and S Tel are the other provisional winners in the auction, which began April 9. The Department of Telecommunications said the results are subject to the approval of the government and thus will result in further consumption of time. The proceeds from the auction will include payments by state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam, who were given bandwidth before auctions to have a head start, being state run companies are now destined to meet the winning bids. The Indian government had put up three bandwidth slots for sale to offer 3G services in 17 telecom service areas, and four slots in remaining five areas. The successful bidders will be allowed to offer 3G services on a commercial basis effective September of this year, if nothing goes in trouble again.

A fighter aircraft is a aircraft designed primarily for air-to-air combat with other aircraft, as opposed to a bomber, which is designed primarily to attack ground targets by dropping bombs. These type of aircraft are small, very fast, and highly maneuverable. Right from the BF-109 Messerschmitt, fighter planes have ruled the enemy skies with their ability to defy enemies attack. The ipad has finally arrived and as Steve jobs claims that it’s “more intimate than a laptop and it’s more capable than a smartphone.” Well, smartphones make and receive phone calls and that’s the reason for attachment of word “phone” to smartphone, and ipad can’t. It definitely features a faster processor but Nexus one too features a 1GHZ processor but ipad excels with appstore and a brilliant screen. The high-resolution, 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS display on iPad is remarkably crisp and vivid however, it can’t be compared to a smartphone.
Steve Jobs once slapped netbooks as cheap laptops and now he says “its more intimate than a laptop”. Let’s compare it with a netbook and see why iPad may not be so hot except for its wow factor:
1. There is no multitasking feature. Well, cheap netbooks can multitask easily.
2. Screen is not widescreen. It’s perfect for reading books but what about watching movies.
3. No Flash support. Steve claims flash a “cpu hog” while millions of website users doesn’t seem to think so. Continue reading “10 Simple reasons for Why iPad doesn’t deserve much attention” »

Tablet PCs garnered the majority of headlines in 2010, and Micro Star International (MSI) decided to start the year by launching the U130, U135 and U160, its first models based on Intel’s Pine Trail platform. However, the end of the decade saw people fall out of love with the netbook form factor that had revitalised sales for a number of OEMs and brought others into the public consciousness. Netbooks were introduced to serve a simple purpose, but were being edged towards machines that could do it all, both in terms of physical characteristics and price. MSI seems to have gone back to basics with the Wind U135, using a redesigned chassis to accommodate the new silicon from Intel. The Pine Trail platform was Intel’s Centrino-like solution for netbooks, moving the memory controller and graphics into the processor package. One of the well-documented problems with the Diamondville platform was the use of the power-hungry 945GC/GSE chipset. Continue reading “MSI Wind U135 netbook Review” »
