Users of Sony Tablet S were looking for ways to rooting and developers community were bamboozled by the tough security that was implemented on it.  The device had a very high layer of security laps over the Android OS, and thus most were out of luck. Finally, a developer has been able to find a way for rooting the device.

It has been unveiled by a Linux hacker called Dan “djrbliss” Rosenberg of Vulnfactory.org. The rooting method is relatively easy. Download the package from XDA, hit the source link below.

1. Put your tablet in USB debugging mode.
2. Then, run the Windows batch file contained within the exploit pack and that’s done.

The procedure takes advantage of an exploit that was found by the hacker. Sony may fix this exploit anytime in future by pushing an over-the-air (OTA) update, and users may again lend up in earlier state of affairs.

Verizon has officially announced the upcoming launch of Motorola Droid 4 for its customers. Rumors or say details already existed in the realm of Internet about this upcoming device. The device will be made available from February 10th, for an attached price of $199.99 with a new two-year agreement.

In addition to the Verizon plan, the customer will have to subscribe to a data package starting at $30 monthly access for 2 GB of data. Verizon will also be offering the Lapdock 500, as a separate purchase for $299.97.

Motorola Droid 4 runs on Android 2.3 and not the new sizzling ICS (Android 4), though the new update should soon be made by Motorola in upcoming month or so. The display is 4.0 inches that can render a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels.

It runs on a top-notch Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 processor with PowerVR SGX540 that is embedded to a TI OMAP 4430 chipset. The device is more than capable to handle anything that is thrown at it.

There is a 8 MP (3264×2448 pixels) rear camera, alongwith a  1.3 front camera for videocalling. I don’t know why Google has blocked videocalling over cellular networks (Android 2.3 doesn’t support videocalling) and thus, the front camera can only be used with apps like Gtalk or Skype which is just pathetic. The Android OS is smart enough to do most of things but dumb to forget the telephony thing.  Anyways, that’s a separate issue and the specifications are a gem.

Sprint has released a new software update for users of HTC EVO Shift 4G. The new software update is being made available over OTA (Over the air). You will automatically receive an update notification about the availability of the update from Feb. 7. The only required thing for you is to be Internet connectivity.

To get the update right now on your handset, go to Settings> About Phone> Check for update. We will ask you to preferentially go for a Wi-Fi network for updating your phone.

Google has released two new updated app for Android, called Google to Phone and Google Docs.

Google Docs for Android needs no introduction. It looks to rival Windows Office live functionality, but it fails very poorly on online world. However, on Android phones, Google Docs is the king but Google has a habbit of taking everything online. This requires you to go online, everytime you need to edit a document. There are many customers who look for a front camera in hope of making 3G video calls. However, many after buying a handset go crazy over Internet and search for, how to make video calls on Xpera Ray?

Here is a quick info about the functionality. Though the phone has front video camera, it is incapable of making 3G video calls.
