Microsoft’s Pink phone is real, but is it really a wow phone?

Well, guys at gizmodo were able to hook up with Microsoft’s upcoming rumored or almost confirmed phone called “Pink” code-named “pure”. They have posted a blurry shot, by the look of which it seems to carry a qwerty sliding form mechanism along with touchscreen input. They have rated the experience of touchscreen above other android handsets which I don’t personally belief. The phone is destined to be a offering from Verizon wireless. From the above shots, it is clear that this phone is neither carrying Windows Mobile 7 or Windows mobile 6.5, it seems to house a proprietary operating system.
There is not much known about other specifications, but going by things they aren’t very interesting either. With the launch of this phone, Microsoft is just looking to capture there lost share of users with their earlier flopped phone “sidekick” where failure of servers resulted loss in data of its users and a huge outrage was seen.

lg-win-phone-exclusive-08top

Microsoft’s Aaron Woodman showed the first Windows Mobile 7 powered mobile phone at The Engadget Show, he took out LG’s Windows Phone 7 Series pre-production prototype! mobile phone which is housed with the QWERTY slider and is the first time anyone has spotted it, though it was already known that the first Windows mobile 7 powered device is apparently built by LG, and while the hardware specifications were not revealed at the show.

Guys at engadget wrote “it’s just a hair thicker than an iPhone or Nexus One, there are dedicated hardware camera, volume, and power buttons in addition to the back, home, and search buttons dictated by Windows Phone 7 Series, and we noticed a five megapixel camera with a flash on the back, along with a headphone jack. Can’t say much apart from that right now, since things are so early and everything is subject to change, but things are certainly moving along”.

Microsoft Announces Windows Phone 7 Series

Microsoft has finally announced the much awaited Windows Phone 7 operating system for mobile phones. They have also changed the name of their operating system to “Windows Phone” from “Windows Mobile”, the decision to do it was taken last year but was not fully implemented. The new nomenclature was done to avoid confusion in the mind of customers.

With Windows Phone 7 Series, Microsoft takes a fundamentally different approach to phone software. Smart design begins with a new, holistic design system that informs every aspect of the phone, from its visually appealing layout and motion to its function and hardware integration. On the Start screen, dynamically updated “live tiles” show users real-time content directly, breaking the mold of static icons that serve as an intermediate step on the way to an application. Create a tile of a friend, and the user gains a readable, up-to-date view of a friend’s latest pictures and posts, just by glancing at Start. SkyFire Browser Now available for all regions

Skyfire runs on most Windows Mobile 5 and 6 and Symbian S60 3rd edition phones.Skyfire can display almost any web based Flash or Silverlight video or animation. I had no trouble watching videos from Daily Motion, Vimeo, Veoh, Hulu uStream, fastcompany.tv, Blip.tv and of course YouTube using Skyfire. With a good3G connection or WiFi video playback is very smooth, with no stuttering or hangs at all. The latest Skyfire Beta is also very stable when streaming video. I spent about an hour watching videos on all the sites mentioned above with the longest clip being over 15 minutes long and Skyfire handled them all perfectly. This is a huge improvement over the first Skyfire S60 Beta five months ago which consistently crashed after 2 minutes of video streaming. The Skyfire team has done a great job of archiving faultless video playback and stability. Skyfire is absolutely the best Flash player I’ve ever used on my N95. I’m also a fan of the standalone player Mobitubia, but it’s limited to Flash 8 and its built in catalog and search functions only work with YouTube. Skyfire is a full-web browser. Using Google you can find and play almost any video on the web.Go here For Download
