HTC has released a list that highlights the expected launch of Android 4 (ICS) update on the basis of month/ device. The released note features 17 handsets and expect for Droid Incredible 2 whose launch of ICS timing is yet to be decided, other devices do feature the tentative period. Below is the list released by HTC.

HTC releases timeline for the release of ICS update for 17 devices : DKgADGET

After the Chinese regulatory authorities gave the green nod to acquisition of Motorola by Google, it took just more than a day to Google to complete the remaining tasks. The deal was already cleared by US and EU regulatory bodies, however China asked for more time to study the implications of the deal.

Google till now has said that it wanted Motorola for patents, securing more than 17,000 patents would help a great deal to preserve Android. However, soon after closing the deal it hired a new CEO who is former Google Americas’ President, Dennis Woodside. He understands Google and soon after taking the charge, he went on to make announcement of new hires.

Few of the key hires Woodside announced today include Regina Dugan (former Director of DARPA), Mark Randall (former supply chain VP at Amazon and previously at Nokia), Vanessa Wittman (former CFO of Marsh & McLennan), Scott Sullivan (former head of HR at Visa and NVIDIA), and Gary Briggs (former Google VP of Consumer Marketing).

“Our aim is simple: to focus Motorola Mobility’s remarkable talent on fewer, bigger bets, and create wonderful devices that are used by people around the world,”

It’s clear that Google was just waiting for the regulatory authorities to complete the scrutiny process. Google expects more from Motorola, rather than simply keeping the portfolio of patents and sell the hardware division of Motorola.

In the meanwhile Sanjay Jha, the former CEO will remain in the company and look after the transition process.

Netflix for Android has been updated to version 1.8.0 with enhanced media playback with improved stability. Below is the official change-log of the released update;

Verizon Wireless has today released a PR clarifying their position on scraping of unlimited data plan. They have provided another way around where you will require pay full amount of the handset  in advance with no terms attached. This will make you qualify for the offer however, paying full price of the device won’t be favorable for everyone.

This only means that Verizon doesn’t want customers to give an easy access to the 3G data unlimited plan, but thought of giving something. As of today, Nokia Lumia 900 is available for pre-order in UK and now a report has come via CNET that it will see a simultaneous launch in Singapore too. The confirmation was communicated by Nokia as well.

Nokia Lumia 900 will be available for purchase in Singapore starting May 26 for 670 USD without any carrier contract meaning it will unlocked version. Customers will be able to choose from three colors: white, cyan and black.
