Sprint has released a new software update for users of HTC EVO Shift 4G. The new software update is being made available over OTA (Over the air). You will automatically receive an update notification about the availability of the update from Feb. 7. The only required thing for you is to be Internet connectivity.

To get the update right now on your handset, go to Settings> About Phone> Check for update. We will ask you to preferentially go for a Wi-Fi network for updating your phone.

Google has released two new updated app for Android, called Google to Phone and Google Docs.

Google Docs for Android needs no introduction. It looks to rival Windows Office live functionality, but it fails very poorly on online world. Mozilla has released a new version of Firefox for Android, standing at version 10, this aims to bring more stability and performance. Below is the changelog of the released update:

1. Anti-Aliasing for WebGL is now implemented
2. Accelerated layers are now supported via OpenGL ES
3. It’s now even easier to set up Firefox Sync – see the “Set up Sync” link on the home tab

Nokia Asha 300 is now available in India for a price of Rs 6,835. The device is now available online via Flipkart and it has been reported available for more than a week by the online retailer.

Nokia Asha 300 has dimensions of 112.8 x 49.5 x 12.7 mm and has a weight of 85 grams. The display is 2.4 inch 256K colors TFT resistive touchscreen that can render a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels.

It comes with a powerful 1 GHz processor which is more than welcoming, has 140 MB internal usage, 256 MB ROM, 128 MB RAM, along with a microSD slot that allows you to expand storage by additional 32 GB. The device comes with a 5MP photo snapper that can record videos at VGA resolution.

Though, Sony is already taking the Ericsson word out of the offerings, they still need approvals from few regulatory authorities who observe fair play. In an expected move, EU (European Union) has given their nod for the deal to go though.

“We can more rapidly and more widely offer consumers smartphones, laptops, tablets and televisions that seamlessly connect with one another and open up new worlds of online entertainment,” Sony’s chairman and Chief Executive Sir Howard Stringer said in a statement while announcing the deal.

The marriage that lasted 10 years is now finally over and it seems for the good. Sony has announced two flagships at the CES and it showed the intentions to take the game, head on. They are looking to innovate with existing hardware (camera with exmor sensor, realty display, better integration of hardware and software) and who’s complaining?

Most of the manufacturers out there are just catching on the GHz race, and to be frank it’s not them who are innovating. They are just packing the stuff and the chip, camera module,  few other stuffs is made by some other company. Apple too does the same think, but their engineers design the stuff and source the manufacturing after vigorous testing which works great for them. Let’s hope something new from Sony and brings something new to the Android world.
