Cydia releases patch for pdf exploit after Apple released similar patch yesterday..

There is no official number for the number of users that jailbreaked their iPhone or iPod using pdf exploit, but the number is certainly huge. However, the method that was used to jailbreak can be pretty tedious as it allows access to file system. Earlier cydia released a patched which allowed users to see a warning, before loading a pdf file through their browser, but this wasn’t the completely secure.

After Apple releasing firmware 4.0.2 yesterday, today author of Cydia also posted similar patch, thus keeping your jailbreak in place.

Update #1: For those who know their way around the bash shell and dpkg, please try out this fix and send any pertinent feedback to @saurik.

Update #2: The fix is installable via Cydia itself now (search for “PDF Patch”).  To test that it’s working properly, visit jailbreakme.com again.  After you slide to jailbreak, you should no longer see a dialog box pop up (you’ll just see the star background).  That means you’re no longer vulnerable!
