According to a post published by SAI, Facebook has seen a drop of 6 million active users in the United States, falling from 155.2 million at the start of May to 149.4 million at the end of it. Canada also registered a 1.52 million loss and now active users from Canada stands 16.6 million. There are three more countries that registered a fall of more than 1 million active users, namely United Kingdom, Norway and Russia. The fall has been registered in countries where is was first to launch it’s services.
Facebook is now nearing towards registration of 700 million users, with current registration numbers standing around 687 million users, as of June. The company saw 11.8 million registering a Facebook profile in May. Most of these users are coming from countries where Facebook has just started it’s operations such as India, Mexico and Brazil.
There isn’t a graph depicting a comparison between active users and registered users to give a clear fluctuation of real thing. Facebook is still growing strong in India and it our neighbor (China) is still out of radar for Facebook due to China’s government requirements. It will be interesting to see, how the story unfolds over due course.
