Facebook has officially announced to make Hyderabad its first office in Asia, with plans to set up a centre in the city to support its growing number of users, advertisers and developers in India and across the globe.
Facebook, which at last count had more than 400 million active users globally including over 8 million in India, announced on Monday that its Hyderabad centre would house online advertising and developer support teams and provide round-the-clock, multi-lingual support to the social networking sites users and advertisers globally.
Though Facebook did not specify its India investment plans or hiring figures for Hyderabad base, it said recruitments had already begun for the director of operations and other key positions, which would which would be synced with its operations in California, Dublin as well as at Austin.
