Google Buzz – Social networking or Micro blogging or None at all!!

Personally I am against it for the fact that each company is going forward in producing their  ownversions of social networks tools and thus creating options which divide the user base. Let me tell you, what the most frequent question that was throwed on me last year? How to configure broadcast from Twitter to Facebook and vice versa. People do not have time to write in every social service, but they want to share it with the whole world. That’s an artificial multiplication of information or say presenting the same information in various forms.

The problem is that the comments to a particular article, do not appear immediately on every service at same time. And then you decide, where do you want to get answered, there is twitter, facebook, orkut and other not so popular networking sites. Some wondered, some kept praises, but no unambiguous assessment of Google buzz was made. Let’s look at this service and try to understand what it is and for whom?

There are two versions of the service, one for desktop use, and the second for mobile devices. Desktop version of it will reside in your Gmail in the left menu. Buzz will show the Twitter streams of your contacts and will recommend you posts by your friends’ friends. By selecting friends, Google Buzz will get even better at recommending comments that may appear interesting to you. For now however, it can only display Twitter feeds. Buzz also integrates the news feeds from Google Reader to push you to the brink of information overload.

Google Buzz will be heavily used as a mobile app – Apple iPhone and the Android are the first to get it, because they have HTML5 support for location-based services. Gizmodo has posted a hands-on for the mobile version, check it out. Get it could be at buzz.google.com, just go at it with your cell phone.

What can Google Buzz  do for you?
With this service, You can write short notes about what is happening in your life and they can be tied to your current location. What you write can be seen all around (you can make them private too), positioning may also be in Longitude reference which allows to see where a particular user can be. I liked the fact that one should not even open the large map to see a piece. Integration with the cards is very interesting, but it is not yet entirely clear. why is it necessary for the common man. The problem is that we communicate, usually by acquaintances and strangers have little interest in knowing it.

The organizing principle is same as that of twitter or say copied from twitter. You can subscribe to those who you know or who you are interested in further reading or in twitter language say “following”.

Like Twitter, you can leave comments on any post. You can also evaluate a message (smiling or sad face icon) which is seen at facebook. In general, it seems that the creators of Buzz took the best of both worlds. In Google Maps there is a layer of Buzz, where you can see where your friends are and what they are writing?

Last words –
Another microblog service, which will attract attention due to the fact that it has been launched by Google. Is this enough for service to become popular? Looking back on Orkut, which is entrenched in Latin America alone, can answer that all depends on luck. While Buzz advantages over other microblog is not visible, or they have not absent eiter. This service is for those who check their email regularly, but somehow don’t visit sites like twitter for any reason.

We say competition is healthy or say is always good as it benefits users but sometimes it also messes up everything.
I hope i am wrong as Google is looking to dominate every field and is not letting others grow though Google favors twitter in its search.

I prefer twitter as it loads faster with a simple boring interface but very useful. Google, on the other hand has customizable interface but loads slowly.
