Google introduces encrypted search with Secure Sockets Layer

Google added an option of using encrypted algorithm called SSL to daily search, that we do on Google’s search engine. The following feature is not available on regular search engine’s page that we know by address “http://www.google.com”, its available on a new launched site “https://www.google.com“. The new page takes care of privacy concerns that we share during search.

Google in its press-release stated

This secured channel helps protect your search terms and your search results pages from being intercepted by a third party on your network [...] Google will still maintain search data to improve your search quality and to provide better service. Searching over SSL doesn’t reduce the data sent to Google — it only hides that data from third parties who seek it.
