Google has released a new small update for Google TV aimed at fixing few performance issues and laying the ground work for a bigger release. The tweet from GoogleTv team at Twitter stated the release of an upcoming sweet update for Google TV.
From the previous leaks and information coming from various sources, we know that this update will be the release of Honeycomb for GoogleTv. This software update should bring the possibility of using apps from Android market. However, there still remains a big question in terms of usability of these apps and at first place, the runnnig of the apps but that isn’t a big thing. This scenario is likely to change in future with developers foucssing their interest and if GoogleTv becomes a success, they will definitely focus.
I don’t know, when will the market of Android apps will explode for GoogleTv as the Tablets using Android OS are still to see the backing from developers to a scale that the mobile running on Android enjoys. That’s a thing that the future will tell but Google now is laying the framework for possibillities to happen.
Google has purchased Motorola for a hefty price and Motorola has presence in the TV segment. Google move to purchase Motorola was to get hold of key patents that will help it to fight against patent issues with other competitors. It was a move to save Android phone manufacturers from suffering in the hands of Apple and Microsoft.
It was the engineers from Motorola that invented the mobile phone and they really posses few of the key patents to this evolution of smartphone. Google as of now don’t have many plans for division cattering to TV from Motorola but the priority of making use of that department is definitely going to change in future. It will be really interesting to see the coming times with Google getting more aressive with their offering. As of now, look to update to this new software for better performance.
