Google TV gets Google Play store

Google has announced that users of Google TV will now be able to purchase movies, TV shows, and music via Google Play store. The Google Play store will act central to Android devices which can be your phone, tablet or TV. Any user purchasing media content on the phone will get the content automatically synced with tablet and TV, via your account.

This update also brings good news for developers. ”For developers, this update also enables many other Google Play features including auto-updates, subscription billing, and smart app updates,” Google said in a blog post.

Google TV can hardly be called a success but this hasn’t made Google or other TV manufacturers from shying away from the platform. With an injection of the Google Play store, we hope that it bring fresh life to the Google TV.
