android 4.1.2

Google has released the Android 4.1.2 update for users of GSM Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S. The released update has been made available for regions outside the United States, and is currently confined to  ”yakju” variant of the Nexus S phone. The phone is without the support for Google wallet catering to regions outside the US.

Users in Canada have reported the receiving of update, but it will take a little longer for the update to hit the Verizon.

Android 4.1.2 update is a stability and performance enhancement update over the previous version of 4.1.1.

Before getting into the update process, below are the few precautions that we would ask you to take.

  1. Look to make a backup of your data, application settings and whatever you can. There are dedicated apps available in the Google play to help you to do the complete backups. This small step can help you from a lot of headache if something goes wrong.
  2. Also, make sure that you have enough battery charge (50% recommended) on your device to sustain the process of updating the device.
