HTC has released the Android 4.0.3 (ICS) update for users of HTC Sensation XL. The update is pushed via OTA (over-the-air). You will automatically receive an update notification about the availability of the update, the only required thing is the presence of Internet connectivity on your handset.

If you aren’t getting the notification, you can check manually by going to Menu > settings > about phone > check for updates. Still not getting, don’t worry, try it later as this is a common scene during the early stages of roll-out. We can confirm the availability of the update in a few Asian countries, Europe and South Africa.
The stock ROM is a 208 MB download and can be downloaded from the HTC support page.
If you want to download the ROM manually, and then Flash it. Below are the download links;
Below is the change-log of the this released update;
- Android OS 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich;
- CMAS support added;
- IPv6 over eHRPD supported;
- Caller Name ID app added;
- VMM/BUA plus updated;
- New storage UI (under settings menu).
- Lots of bugs fixed
Before going for this update, we recommend two things:
- Look to completely charge-up your device battery as you won’t like your device switching off in-between the update process.
- Also, try to back-up your messages, contacts, application settings and whatever you can. If something goes wrong, this little step can save you from a lot of headache.
