Huawei Ideos X5 was released last year, in the month of December with Android 2.2 (Froyo) running as an operating system. Google announced the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update in the same time. However, Huawei didn’t made any announcement related to updating the smartphone to Android 2.2, though it did released Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update for high-end phones like Huawei Ideos X6.
Now, after a year Huawei is pushing some good news for owners of Huawei Ideos X5, they have finally decided that it may be time to update the Ideos X5 to Android 2.3 Gingerbread, The first region that will be getting the Android 2.3 update is Europe. With Huawei, you don’t know the way they will roll out the update due to the same device sold under different manufacturers and various under contractual arrangements.
Below are things that you can generally expect with this new update of Android 2.3 :
1. Better battery management increasing battery life of the handset
2. Improved on-screen keyboard with multi-touch keypad
