IPhone 3G price in India – Rs. 31,000(8GB) and Rs. 36,100(16GB) Why?

“Your wait is about to end for a shock! iPhone 3G arrives on Aug 22. 8GB model is for Rs 31000 and 16GB for Rs 36100.
For me it is a very disappointing price tag. It is not of that much from a money point of view..
1. Apple iphone is a touchscreen phone but does’nt provide the tactile feed back as Lg and some samsung phone give.Though not a big issue…
2. Its selling factor are its looks and interface and everyone thinks Apple media players sound are best in the world. They are definitely very good but not the best. Search it out on the internet an you will find the truth. Dont go for american sites as they always seem to aplaud Apple.And if you have about200 albums on iphone and i think 16gb will be enough for that, how can you think of browsing through cover flow art. It will take tiresome time.
3. How can you justify a 2MP Camera without autofocus and flash above Rs 30,000. Sorry i mention to forgot “NO VIDEO RECORDING”.
4. They say E-Mail(Microsoft E-MAIL Exchange) support along with Safari browser and Aol Chat is enough to be able to call it an enterprise device. Well everyother has it Symbian has it way back, microsoft’s own windows mobile devices has it. So why are they shouting so much for nothing. Yaar you can’t forward a message in iphone. Aur kya kahein….
5. App store is much of a shout. I tried some of them but few were of real use. Download numbers dont tell the real story?

Now why Rs 30,000 and above..
1. Apple makes most of its money through itune service embedded into iphone and will also target appstore. In india its of no use. So only one time money making opportunity.
2. It will not get any royalty from Airtel and nor Vodafone. So it is without any restrictions. It can be used with any sim such as idea or aircell.
3. Apple somewhere down the line want to keep it as a premium product and not a mass product to avoid competition. And they are online to exceed their expectations of selling numbers as it has been launched in more than 70 countries.

Comeon guys this is not a sex toy that everyone is going for its wow factor. And to tell you the truth Apple has just assembled it. Its processors and memory cards are from samsung.

Belive me everything is incorporated from other manufacturers. Just search in google and u will know the real Apple factor ….

    Look out for the first phone from Nokia in Touchscreen category – Nokia 5800 Xpress Music!
    The phone beats iPhone in almost everything.
    1. You can replace the battery(like any other phones) unlike iPhone.
    2. Memory card option(it will be preloaded with 8GB microSD card and 16GB microSD will be in market early next year with higher capacities to follow, refer to sanDisk site).
    3. 3.2 MP cam with dual LED flash and yeah 30 fps VIDEO RECORDING!!!
    4. Supports HSCSD and 3G unlike iPhone, not useful in India yet but in US these are hot techs right now.
    5. Bluetooth works with everything unlike iPhone where its use is restricted.
    6. No converting your music through fuckin iTunes ;)
    7. Screen resolution astounding 320×640, iPhone is 320×480.
    8. For me, it looks much better than iPhone, I never liked the metallic back plate of iPhone with fingerprints and scratches all over it. :S
    9. No one can doubt the after sales service capabilities of Nokia, much more reliable than any other manufacturers in this part of the world.
    10. Last and probably the most Important thing, In India price is supposed to be Rs 19000. Wayyyyy cheaper than iPhone.

    So lets wait for this pretty lil thing to hit the market! I believe Nokia will follow it up with atleast 2-3 touchscreen models by mid 2009.

    When will Apple iphone 3gs be released in India? Don't think i will see this happening in this decade…. I adore steve jobs for his leadership but hate him for these type of decisions.
