iPhone 5: Users won’t be able to use Voice and Data simultaneously

Here is an interesting and amusing news about the cellular capabilities of the iPhone 5 that was first reported by The Verge, against the statement that Verizon made yesterday. The news was later officially confirmed by Verizon, but its opposite of what they said earlier.

It turns out that iPhone 5 won’t be able to handle voice and data transfers simultaneously on some networks. In the United States, the Verizon and Sprint networks are the ones who are affected by it. It seems they will have a few customers who will be unhappy with their iPhone 5.

There are still no clear answers to the limitation from a technical point of view as CDMA is known to be able to transfer data and voice simultaneously. And with the transformation to 4G or LTE, the limitation shouldn’t have been there. We will update you as these turn of reports become clearer with time.
