LG has showed a new version of Optimus Vu as LG Optimus Vu2 with built-in universal remote feature. The remote feature is established with the help of infrared sensor present on the phone.

The remote functionality gets controlled via company’s q-remote app, which will allow the Smartphone to act as the universal remote for electronics items including set-top boxes, audio systems, air conditioners and more. It seems infrared to again get a boot in some new form.

The LG Optimus Vu II will first set its feet in Korea, and will be announced with the upcoming quad-core phone from LG. The other specifications of the phone aren’t clearly out as of now, except for the phone featuring a 5 inch display that can render a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.

The above feature image is of the app that allows you to remote control other electronic devices. We will update you as more information comes in coming days.
