Earlier, Microsoft announced the upcoming new Office 2012 and today they have released the new version of Microsoft office apps online. If you have a live ID, log in to your skydive and you can create, view or edit Word, Excel, PowerPoint or OneNote documents.
Microsoft was already offering the Office suite online, but it had limited capabilities. The new version brings more features for good and gives you a flavor of the upcoming stuff. As with the earlier issue, you can create or edit documents in a web-browser, irrespective of your system having the Office suite installed or not.
The main focus of the cloud offering is to make your documents available from anywhere with the help of web-browser, further collaborate and share with others. This web-release brings improved authoring, touch support, collaboration and improvement in performance.
