Microsoft is gearing towards the release of first beta version of their upcoming office suite in January, 2012. The development package has been code-named ‘Office 2015′ and sources close to the working say, a Preview version of the office productivity-suite will likely be distributed alongside the Windows 8 beta at CES 2012.
As with the case with Windows 8, the office suite will also import looks from Metro User Interface. Metro UI was first introduced in Windows Phone 7 and since then, Microsoft has looked to impart it in most of it’s offerings. As of now, we don’t know the extension of change in UI looks.
The next big change will be ability to use Office 2015 with help of touch inputs, pen or fingers on tablets alongside regular ways. This change will keep things consistent with the level of Windows 8 behavior. Windows 8 is designed to be functional on tablets, as well as desktops. Microsoft will also introduce a new application called “Moorea” that will act as a start-up page or screen with tiles of content for easier navigation.
