The upcoming Windows 8 operating system from Microsoft is yet to be launched, and its store has already crossed the number 1,000. It now hosts more than a thousand apps. Yes, the number doesn’t seem very big but it’s just the start when there is no existence of the operating system among the consumer base.
The following number highlights the interest of the developers in the upcoming Windows 8 operating system from Microsoft. Vista was a disaster for Microsoft, Windows 7 was finely tuned and a very stable release but the buzz that Windows 8 has been able to generate has been unparalleled by any other release.
According to a research firm, the rate at which developers are submitting apps, we may well see the store hosting more than 3,000 apps at the time of the launch. As of now, Microsoft only lists those apps which can be downloaded for free by the developer. Users can download the Windows 8 Consumer Preview, and test these apps from the store.
