Motorola has quietly made the Atrix 2 smartphone available in India at a price hovering around INR 22,990. You can preorder the device from all the major online retailers namely Letsbuy, Saholic and Flipkart.
Motorola Atrix 2 has dimensions of 126 x 66 x 10 mm with a weight of 147 grams. There is a 4.3 inch TFT Capticive Gorilla Glass type, 16 million colors display that can render a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The CPU running the phone is powerful compromising of a Dual-core 1GHz processor, Tegra 2 AP20H chipset and ULP GeForce GPU.
The camera module is 8MP with 1080p video recording. There is also a secondary front camera that is embedded for videocalling, but due to the pathetic basic capabilities of Android, you won’t be allowed to use the camera for 3g videocalling. Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) doesn’t have the implementation of the feature that allows videocalling over 3G, it only allows the use of front camera via Internet that requires use of software like Skype. The phone has 8 GB of internal storage with 1 GB of RAM to take care of your phone operations, also there is a microSD slot that allows to expand storage by a further 32 GB.
The phone is powered by a bigger Li-Ion 1785 mAh battery which is rated for 380 h of stand-by and 8 h of continuous talk-time. Further, the device has GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, 21 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 and has microUSB 2.0 for data transfers. However, the only downside that we feel to the device is the OS. It currently runs on Android 2.3, however in the world of Android, there are plenty of ways to get the latest OS via unofficial ways.
