Motorola starts shutting offices in South Korea, full exit by 2013

Motorola in a move to streamline their android operations, or say Google’s desire to reduce the workforce by 20 percent of the company has started shutting down offices in South Korea. They are planning for a full exit by the year 2013 from the country.

“Consolidate our global R&D efforts to foster collaboration, and to focus more attention on markets where we are best positioned to compete effectively.” – Motorola to The Next Web

HTC too had shut down its operations in South Korea due to lack of demand for their Smartphones. It seems only the home company, Samsung is able to understand the requirements of the domestic market.
