
Nokia has officially launched the new Asha 303 handset in India with an attached price tag of Rs. 8,899. The device made the headline for running on a 1GHz single-core processor and using Symbian series s40 as operating system. The Symbian s40 OS from Nokia is optimized heavily for low-end devices, though the OS carries most of the abilities of a smartphone. The planting of such a Processor at core made the device comparable with few of the offerings in Android world.
With regards to specifications, Nokia Asha 303 has dimensions of 116.5 x 55.7 x 13.9 mm, 72 cc with a weight of 99 grams. The display is TFT capacitive touchscreen, 256K colors display that can render a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Apart from screen being a touchscreen, it also features a full-fledged QWERTY keypad for those who like to use keypad. The OS has 128 MB RAM for usage by Applications when the phone is running. Nokia Asha 303 carries a camera module of 3.15 MP for photo which can further record video at VGA resolution. Further, the device has GPRS, EDGE, 3G (HSDPA, 10.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 2 Mbps), microSD slot that allows you to expand storage by 32 GB, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP Profile, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and is powered by a 1300 mAh (BP-3L) battery. You can avail the device at a little cheaper price when it comes to buying it online. Flipkart is selling the device around Rs. 7,700 which is a good deal. However, there are Android phones which are available near the same price range and you might want to have a look at them too. We have nothing against the phone but nothing for it also.
