Nokia to transfer Symbian software activities to Accenture, 4000 Jobless by 2012

Nokia in a press release has made an announcement to transfer all of its Symbian software work to Accenture. Accenture is a big global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company.

Nokia will cut down its global working force by 4,000 by the end of 2012. The majority of layoffs will happen in Denmark, Finland and the UK. Further, other 3,000 employees of Nokia will be shifted to Accenture and they will continue to work on other projects. They will continue to support Symbian activities but we really don’t where their future lie?

Nokia added “The collaboration also includes plans for Accenture to provide mobility software, business and operational services around the Windows Phone platform to Nokia and other ecosystem participants”. Well, it’s pathetic to see a company getting ruined by a Trojan sent from Microsoft.
