Nokia has shed the details of their upcoming Nokia World event for 2012, and there has been quite a few changes. First of all, the event has been moved out of London and is going to take place at Helsinki, Norwary. The event will be held for 2 days, from 25th to 26th September. Nokia has even put-up a dedicated page for the event. Go here, to have a peek into the stuff.
Now, the next question is what can we expect from Nokia.
- Windows 8 powered tablet – Windows 8 consumer preview has just been released for users and it has generated a good buzz among consumer base, a million download of the OS on the first day itself. It’s right time to finally unveil something. Stephen Elop has already confirmed interest of Nokia in creating such a product, but didn’t gave any time-frame on it.
- Pureview Hardware on Windows Phone – I really don’t know the progress on this front. Symbian is owned by Nokia and they can customize it anyway to tweak the photo processing algorithms, interface, the way the OS handles camera, implement features without asking anyone and also patch-up performance. However, playing by rules of Windows Phone isn’t very easy and though, Microsoft cooperates with Nokia to a great extent, there are still limitation. More than the hardware, the progress of Windows Phone will determine the implementation of this feature. This was one of the main reason of Nokia Lumia 808 pureview possessing this technology currently.
- More Processing power for Windows Phone – Windows phone is quite fast on a single-core processor and there is no lagging of OS while playing games. But, marketing asks for more and this is definitely on the cards.
There will definitely be other things on the event such as unveiling of few phones for emerging markets, Stephen shouting praises of Nokia (ehh!) and few things. We look forward to seeing it.
