RIM introduces new Blackberry OS called BBX

Research in motion is seriously taking the case of having an OS which is great for users. The new devices with Blackberry OS 7 has just hit the market and Blackberry has already laid the groundwork for it’s next upcoming OS called BBX.

Below are the major changes that RIM has introduced with this new OS

  1. BlackBerry WebWorks and HTML5 apps compatible with current BlackBerry smartphones and tablets will run on future BBX-based devices
  2. Native SDK for BlackBerry PlayBook goes gold; released for general availability
  3. SDK for Adobe AIR Now Supports Adobe AIR 3.0
  4. BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 Developer Beta now available, includes BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps

As you can see, this is just laying the groundwork for developers and the what gets translated for consumers will only be known in future but RIM is definitely heading in the right direction. The possibilities are wide but the outcome depends on what developers look to execute?

Update : This new upcoming OS from Blackberry won’t be support Jave (j2me micro) apps.
