Samsung Galaxy S III GT-I9300 to Get Jelly Bean in October, 2012

Samsung Galaxy S III GT-I9300 is set to get the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update in the coming month of Oct, 2012. The news was firstly reported by CNET, and later the online tech blogs picked up the headline.

The original site said “the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system will be available on the Galaxy S3 from October”. The set date sounds a little hard to believe but we would like to see it coming.

If we take the above mentioned month as the actual one, it will still be some 3 months away when the carrier will start pushing the update. In general, the unlocked version of Galaxy S3 gets the update first, followed by carriers.

The carrier pushing the update requires some customizations to the operating system which manufacturers take some time in providing, and thus the delay.
