Sony has finally launched Sony Xperia S in India with an attached price-tag of INR 32,549. Although the spotted camera on the device is 12 MP with EXMOR sensor, we still don’t think that the price is justifiable. If you are interested in availing the device online, you can buy it from flipkart.com by going here.
On the spec side, the Sony Xperia S has a 4.3 inch display with HD resolution (720×1280 pixels) which really shines on a great display with the highest ppi (pixel per inch density) seen on a screen. The device runs on a MSM8260 chipset with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM.
The Xperia S offers 16GB or 32GB of internal storage but there’s no expansion option available via microSD card slot. The camera module is a 12-megapixel with Sony’s Exmor R backlit sensor, while at the front there’s a 1.3MP camera for video calling purposes. We have to mention one fact about Android 2.3, it’s incapable of making video calls over 3G which is just lame of Google. It only allows video-calling over Internet with use of software like Skype.
The device will initially be running on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and there is a planned Android 4 update in coming months. We love the first Sony branded device after the break-up of Sony Ericsson and it really shines on performance. The camera too is also a definite plus.
