Sony Xperia U is now available in Canada on Fido. The device has been made available with the following options;
- $30 on a two-year contract
- Free on a three year contract
- $300 (Direct purchase for phone only or Pre-Paid)
Sony Xperia U has a 3.5 inch display boasting a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels on a reality display. The device also features Sony’s xLOUD technology which makes the sound-output little louder to your ears on speaker. The rear has a 5 MP camera with 720p video recording. The CPU possesses a dual-core 1 GHz processor with 512 MB of embedded RAM. The device would be an ideal replacement for Xperia Mini and Xperia Mini Pro. There is also a transparent band at the bottom which lights up with different colors and can be customized to illustrate different type of notifications (new message, missed call).
I love the brushed aluminum feel of the devices. The devices runs on Android OS v 2.3.7, however a planned Android 4 will soon hit for users after the launch of the device.
