Sprint customers can soon expect better download speeds and coverage, FCC approve changes

sprint policy changes consumers bad

Here is a good news for customers of Sprint, they can expect a faster network with better coverage in future. FCC has approved an order that allows editing existing rules related to the ESMR 800MHz spectrum. This will allow for 3G and 4G network technologies to be deployed on the ESMR 800MHz spectrum band. These rules are known as the “FCC Part 90?, which govern “private land mobile radio services.”

As of now, this is just the laying of amendment work and it will take some-time before the real fruits start appearing, but the future is promising for sure. After the changes in cellular infrastructure, phones too need to support the medium. The new iPhone 4s from Sprint doesn’t support the proposed changes and its of no use for these existing customers. However, the Android ecosystem moves faster and you can soon expect some phones supporting the standards.
