Sprint has released a new software update for users of Samsung Epic Touch 4G. The new update is S:D710.10S.FH13 (MR 4) and is actually a fix for the new Android 4 (ICS) update that was released.
The earlier released ICS software update for Epic Touch 4G had few performance issues that was seen by users, with few users fuming over it on the forums. The update has been made available as an OTA (over-the-air) release.
You will automatically get an update notification of the availability of the update, the only required thing is your device being online. If you aren’t getting the notification, you can check manually by going to settings > about phone > check for updates.
Before going for this update, we would ask you to do two things;
- Look to make a backup of your messages, application settings and whatever if you can. There are dedicated apps available in the Google play to help you to do complete backups. This small step can help you from a lot of headache if something goes wrong.
- Also, make sure that you have enough battery charge on your device to sustain the process of updating the phone.
