T-Mobile USA has released a new software update for users of the old HTC made T-Mobile G2. The released update is nothing big and what it does is fixing few security bugs found with the operating system of the phone, also give more desired stability resulting in overall improvement in performance of the phone.
The OS will still remain on Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread), and the new software version will be seen as 2.16.531.6.
The update has to downloaded manually to the PC, and then has to be installed on the phone. You will need to have the drivers installed properly for you to have a successful update.
Hit this HTC’s source link to download the RUU (ROM Update Utility), connect your phone and then, go through with the process of updating.
Before going for this update, we would ask you to do two things;
- Look to make a backup of your messages, application settings and whatever if you can. There are dedicated apps available in the Google play to help you to do complete backups. This small step can help you from a lot of headache if something goes wrong.
- Also, make sure that you have enough battery charge on your device to sustain the process of updating the phone.
