Verizon’s Motorola Xoom Gets Android 3.2 Update

Motorola Xoom

Users of Motorola Xoom running on Verizon network are reporting the availability of Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) update. The update is pushed over OTA (over-the-air) and users are getting automatic notification about the availability of the update, the only requirement is the presence of device to be online. If you aren’t getting the notification, go to menu > settings > and check for update.

This update has lots of stability issues fixed, performance enhancements, a new feature called Zoom to fill screen and finally support for SD card (this feature should have been there from the very start). It was strange to see the Android 3.1 update that was earlier released in June for Europe had support for microSD cards but US version din’t.

Before going for this update, we always recommend two things :

  1. Look to completely charge-up your device battery as the update will use wireless Internet connectivity and you won’t like your device switching off in-between the update process.
  2. Also, look to back-up your files, application settings and whatever you can. If something goes wrong, this little thing can save you a lot of headache.
