o2 hasn’t approved the Android 4 update for users of Xperia Ray which was submitted by Sony to the operator, a few weeks ago. This led to few users outrage over the issue, but o2 did nothing to address the issue. The cause of rejection for the submitted update might be attributed to the firmware not carrying desired customizations by the operator.
However, here is a good news for users who are using the Vodafone network in Australia. It has been reported that Vodafone has approved the Android 4.0.4 update for users of Xperia Ray.
According to Vodafone’s “Software Update Weekly Wrap” released on September 5, Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Xperia ray has been “approved by Vodafone, awaiting roll out by Sony.”
