Windows Phone 8’s Lock Screen to have revamped notifications

The Windows Phone 7 lockscreen notification allowed users to see most of the incoming alerts at a glance. The general purpose was to provide the user the number of missed calls, incoming messages, unread emails and few other things.

Microsoft has revamped the lockscreen notification center in Windows Phone 8 with a few more additions. The information was dug up by WMPoweruser. The above image is what they got their hands on, and it clearly shows the presence of 5 icons at bottom.

The icons are related to Skype which is new and again highlights the fact Skype will come built-in with Windows Phone 8, followed by Windows Phone icon which might just refer to the number of background running apps, outlook icon showcasing email, some game icon and messaging icon.

There are also rumors that are floating around the web that Microsoft has planted a Windows Phone 8 notification center app to customize the notifications that you want to see on the lockscreen. That will definitely be a welcoming thing for users. We will update you as more information comes on the upcoming Windows Phone 8.
